about
Rakkatak’s debut 2010 self-titled CD takes a unique and creative musical approach in presenting classical tabla compositions to a Canadian audience. Anita Katakkar, the woman fuelling this project, conceived his CD by merging Indian classical rhythms with lustrous instrumental melodies and tasteful electronic soundscapes. NXNE 2010 curator Lisa Patterson described it as: "tabla soaked electronica."
